Katie Weinmann

Instructor at: DumBell Fitness

Although she has always played sports and made a point to stay active, Katie developed many unhealthy habits during college. These bad habits were compounded when she moved across country to San Diego and her husband left for deployment. She wanted to make a change, but found herself needing the extra motivation and accountability. She joined boot camp classes in San Diego and finally made fitness a priority. She fell in love with exercising outside, the combination of cardio and strength training, and the sense of community that group classes offered.

After arriving in Hawaii in 2013, she became a part of the DumBell fitness family and her love of fitness hit a new level. DumBell was exactly what she was looking for – a community of relatable spouses that continuously motivated and encouraged each other. She was expecting to get stronger, but she hadn’t expected the lifestyle changes that would come with being part of the DumBell Fitness program. Christina’s “Words of Wisdom” and nutritional guidance helped her to drop many of the horrible habits she had regained while feeling homesick so far away from friends and family. Becoming a certified trainer and teaching the program she whole-heartedly believed in was the obvious next step.

Katie’s primary focus in each of her classes is encouragement and motivation. She tailors her instruction and feedback as much as possible to each individual class and client; knowing that the path to being fit and healthy is different for everyone. She strives to instruct in a way that both challenges her clients and offers them a true sense of accomplishment— attempting to do so with a sense of humor. Prior to becoming a trainer, Katie worked for many years in the hospitality industry and also in the political field on campaign trails and Capitol Hill.
