Rebekah Henwood

Rebekah Henwood

Instructor at: Veteran’s Center

Rebekah has been an Air Force pilot’s wife for 11 years. After four previous duty stations, the Henwoods moved to Hawaii in 2015 along with their two children.

Athletics have always been a big part of Rebekah’s life. She participated in gymnastics, basketball, and volleyball, and played competitive soccer her whole life through college. After college, she took up running to keep in shape, and eventually became passionate about weight lifting and group fitness. She has also experienced the realities of being overweight and out of shape, after her second pregnancy kept her on bedrest and left her with 70 extra pounds, which she was able to shred before her son’s first birthday. After a reconstructive hip surgery in 2011, and being told by her doctors she would never run again and her fitness career was out of the picture, Rebekah used her growing knowledge of corrective exercise and her “no excuses” mentality to push through, regain her strength and agility and come back stronger than before. This challenge only enhanced her passion for fitness and gave her a greater drive to help others overcome their obstacles to become the healthiest and fittest version of themselves.

Prior to coming to DBF, Rebekah worked as a personal trainer, bootcamp and group fitness instructor, and TRX trainer at a YMCA in Texas. She continues to feed her competitive nature through running and adventure type races.
